A Little Something to Keep Karen in Your Thoughts

Posted on September 7, 2019September 7, 2019 by Charlie

Okay, maybe we don’t need anything to inspire us to keep Karen in our thoughts. I think of her constantly, and speak about her every day to the friends around me, the people I work with, and not infrequently with complete strangers. It’s not uncommon for somebody to have a tear in their eye. I don’t apologize when it’s me.

Wildflowers have become a theme with remembering Karen, and I’ve worked at replanting her wildflower fields this year. I had challenges, but I think it was a good start. The annuals came up nicely, but so did the prairie grass. I managed to get rid of most of the invasive weeds, so it’s a good start.

Here’s a pic of some flowers I picked last week. They are annuals, and I am planting the first batch of perennials over winter.

Something that pleases me immensely is that flowers are popping up all over the property, not just in the wildflower fields.

People have been planting flowers in Karen’s honor over the last year and a half. Some have sent me pics, and others have shared stories. If you have a pic you’d like shared on the blog, please send it and let me know it’s okay to post.

Do you need some of Karen’s wildflower seed packets? Send me a note (email me, or use the contact me link) with your address and I’ll send some. If we don’t know each other, please introduce yourself and let me know how you knew Karen. Don’t hesitate to share stories of Karen. I look forward to hearing from you.

OH how beautiful! Thanks for picking them, Charlie and bringing them inside. I know Karen is smiling on them all the way from heaven. Angels’ tears keep them watered.

They are truly beautiful. And what a wonderful way to remember and honor Karen. She is still working on her wildflowers which is why they just keep popping up all over the place – and what a lovely surprise for you. It never ceases to amaze me how our loved ones always find the best ways to communicate with us to let us know that they still see and feel how very much we miss and love them and that they too are remembering and loving us even though they had to leave us. And guess what … THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
