Karen’s Passing

Posted on May 19, 2018May 19, 2018 by Charlie

Dear friends,

Karen passed away tonight after an almost two year struggle with cancer. She fought like hell the whole time, and even while fighting this terrible sickness, she inspired people to make the world a better place. She did this by sharing just the right story with somebody who needed a pick-me-up, or inspiring people to volunteer or contribute to charity, or the way she’d start each greeting with a smile, or how she was always thoughtful of others and their challenges.

My brain is dead right now, and I’ll need to be back up early tomorrow. We’ll have a viewing and service, probably mid next week, depending on the funeral home’s availability. The date should be set tomorrow.

I’d love to know how many people would be at an after service reception, for catering purposes. If you think you might come, please use the contact me link to the left to provide details. I’d like to get one of Karen’s favorite local restaurants to cater the reception, which would be at our house.

Another thing that would be wonderful is if you would spread the word to anybody that you know, that also knows Karen. I don’t want to assume that everybody reads the blog, and I don’t have an email list of people to contact. Karen has been reclusive for a while, especially recently, and I’d like to make sure people get the chance to see her.

Charlie, We are so sorry to hear this news. She is going to be missed. Her smiling face lit up the room when people walked in. She was such a sweet lady. Please let Brian and I know if you need anyhing.

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”. John 14:3

Karen is with Jesus now, free of suffering and pain. We are left here to grieve. But for those who truly know Jesus Christ we can be assured, according to the promise of God, we will see her again in eternity. Our hearts go out to Charlie, Agnes, and all her loved family and friends. May Our Lord bless you and hold you close, give you comfort, strength, and understanding in the days ahead. With love, Uncle Frank and Aunt Joyce
