Sleepy Monday

Karen pushed herself pretty hard over the weekend, and is getting some well earned rest. She’s trying to take the medication to reduce her ammonia levels, and that’s going better than it was. It’s some pretty nasty tasting stuff, so we’re using Italian shaved ice treats to clear the palate between gulps. That’s making it a little bit better for her.

She’s had some new pain in her lower back, so we broke out the little massage pillow we have. It seems to help.

A little more worrisome for me is that the circulation in her legs and feet seems to have gotten a little worse. I’m watching that when she’s up, and she’s wearing compression stocking when she’s sleeping. That seems to be doing well so far.

All she’s had to eat today was some shaved ice and fruit juices, so I’m hoping she gets more of an appetite later. But she has been up and about, and has had a nice hot shower. Right now she’s sleeping soundly, and peacefully.
