Surgery Update Post

I’ll update this periodically today 4/14.

9:10 — Resting soundly in her room. 

6:07 — She’s still sleeping, but she always takes a while to come out of anastesia. 

4:00 — She’s all closed up and in recovery. They couldn’t remove all of the cancer, but they did get a good handle on the situation. That will help guide treatment, so some good came from it. Doc is working on new plans to attain remission.

3:20 — Spoke to doc from OR.  Unable to remove all of the tumors. Cancer is too extensive. Only removing what he can without causing too much risk. Doc wants her healing and back on chemo. Plans to finish and close her back up.

1:42 — Surgery started.

12:50 — Surgery delayed, should start by 1:30 or so.

11:17 — Karen is in Pre-op for anticipated surgery start time around noon. Surgery expected to  be 5 hours or less.
