We’re getting together for Karen next Saturday (June 22), rain or shine. Unfortunately, it’s going to be rainy around here. We’re expecting rain every day through next weekend, and we just finished up with a rainy weekend.
I’m guessing it will be too muddy to plant a tree in Karen’s honor, so we might forego that. It stays muddy for days after a rain here right now, and we’re at record levels of rain already. Even though it will be wet all week, I’ll see if I can arrange some wood for a bonfire and cover it to try to keep it relatively dry. I have plenty of diesel to light it, no matter how wet it is π If we have a break in the weather, and folks want, we can probably still light a bonfire.
We have plenty of room under roof for anybody who can make it. I’m hoping most people can stop buy for at least a little while. People are welcome to come out any time after around 2PM. We’ll surely have people here after dark at the very least. No doubt that we’ll play some euchre. We’ll have plenty of good eats, but you’re still welcome to bring a small dish if you’d like, but it’s not necessary.
I’m really trying to make this a pleasant get-together. People tell me that eventually the good times will be as fresh in my mind as the hard times. As I sit here, it’s hard to believe. But when friends are around, it’s easy to talk about the good times, and remember those too. It will be nice to have you guys over.
I’ll be there “with bells on”, Charlie and perhaps there will be a break in the weather. Lite the bonfire!!
Looking forward to the celebration and memory sharing π
