Karen and I bought a warehouse for our business in 2013. We renovated it over the fall and winter, and then moved in early January 2014. It was an exciting time for us, and the year was a fantastic one. There were only three of us that first year, but we grew rapidly.
One of our first traditions was to have a holiday party at the warehouse. We valued relationships in our business, and our party was a time for us to set aside work concerns, and just have a good time. We invited the people we worked with professionally, as well as our families and friends. Karen made it something really special.
Our holiday party was not like others, because we brought our friends and family together with our business partners. It could have worked out badly, but I don’t think it ever has. Each year, our only regret was that we weren’t able to talk to everybody as much as we had hoped.
This is the first year since the event’s inception that we have not had a Christmas party at the warehouse, but don’t worry, the tradition has not ended. We’ll have our holiday party again, hopefully next year at the new warehouse.
In the mean time, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and/or a happy holiday. I was fortunate to be able to do the Zoom thing as part of my holiday, and today, the day after Christmas, I did a little sledding and had lunch on Karen’s sledding hill.
When I took the above picture, Karen’s star was about 15 feet behind me. I took a nighttime picture of her star a few nights ago and will share it below.
Merry Christmas!
❤️
Have a Happy New Year filled with health and prosperity.
Merry Christmas and wishes of happiness in the new year. The picture of Karen’s star is amazing; it is just beautiful.
Sounds like a great afternoon Charlie. And I’m sure you know that Karen was right there beside you enjoying the day as well. Happy New Year. Aunt Ceil
