Tuesday update… Karen’s fever broke early this morning, and she’s been on the mend since. She ate breakfast successfully, and by noon she was up and walking around the hospital with me. Here’s a pic of the view from the roof here at the Clinic.
Also, late breaking news is that the Hope Lodge just confirmed a room for me. The Hope Lodge offers a free place for patients and their caregivers to stay while being treated at the Clinic. We’re very grateful for the room. Hotels are unbearably expensive for so long of a stay. I’m told that once you’re officially on their roster that it’s even easier to get a room next time. Fingers crossed!
I probably won’t have anything else to report today, but will check back soon…
From Monday… The first dose is always the worst, and hopefully that’s the case with the new medication too. Karen started the trial today, and had a bit of a struggle with nausea and a fever, but hopefully the worst is behind her. We weren’t really sure what to expect, so couldn’t take medications in advance like we usually do. With luck tomorrow will be a bit easier on her.
