The second dose of the immunotherapy meds went pretty much like the first, so although Karen is still pretty fatigued, she’s at least not experiencing the side effects like the chemotherapy.
We spent the weekend with some friends and did a few things out of the norm. One of them was a trip to the Sterling Bluegrass Jamboree, which was a lot of fun. I don’t think either of us would classify ourselves as bluegrass fans, but this band was particularly skillful, and it was energetic and uplifting music. I’m more of a heavy metal fan, but definitely plan a return to the Jamboree!
We also spent some time in the yard cleaning things up and doing a few projects. We’ve been having troubles with our flower beds so I will be working on that next weekend while Karen spends some time on her Kubota doing some mowing. A little mold problem in the mulch turned into a big one for us. I plan to pull it all out Saturday. In the mean time we’re still working on our new rack for firewood and other things outside when we both have the energy.
There seems to be plenty of work to do inside too. Most of it is things we can do, or that we have help with, but we are on the lookout for somebody who does great drywall work. Please let us know if you have somebody.
Karen has another dose of the meds next Tuesday. Until then we plan to be as “normal” as we can. Mow the lawn, work, eat, watch tv, etc. A lot of the time over the last year Karen hasn’t felt up to doing any of that, so it’s nice to be able to do a more normal array of things together, even if only for short periods. Trips still wear her out, so we’ve been keeping those limited to the occasional trip to dinner, or the Jamboree! I think Hobby Lobby is in our near future too!
If you find a drywall guy, send him here. We’ll need him too
Thanks for the update, Charlie. Always good hearing from/about the activities. Love & hugs
