Last night went well for Karen from a queasy/chilly/achy perspective, because she didn’t have any of that, but she had a short period where her heart rate went up a bit. It was short lived, and of little concern in itself. The rest of the night we both slept soundly. Or, at least as soundly as one can with regular nurse visits and on a hospital bed (hospital recliner for me).
This morning’s tests were a little more troublesome though. Her blood test came back showing her white blood cells/neutrophils are low, and this is causing some concern with the trial doctors. They decided to hold treatment for today, and are likely considering whether to end the trial. Her blood test tomorrow will probably be a deciding factor. Of course, this is a bit disappointing. Low neutrophils are part and parcel with cancer treatment, and nothing new to Karen, but when the purpose of the trial is to determine when the regimen is too much, this might just be the case. And that doesn’t make anybody happy. For now, we’ll watch some TV and hope for the best.
Probably nothing else to report until tomorrow afternoon.
