Karen is spending a lot of time sleeping, but is in less pain. The mixture of meds the docs gave her to address her back pain seem to have worked, and let whatever it was heal up, so she’s back to just having the stomach pain. She’s taking less of the oxy right now.
Friends came over to help me lower our bed, and that has made it easier for her to get into bed. We removed the box springs and fixed it up with some plywood and supports. It’s just a little harder to get out of bed now, but she can now get back in without having to use a step.
The docs sent us a few new meds that she can start anytime she needs. These include something other than oxy to help with pain. We also have an oxygen concentrator now too, as her breathing has become a little more labored. Unfortunately, draining the fluids in her abdomen are providing less relief, and for less of a period of time. The oxygen should help with that, but she’s not started using it yet.
Not a lot more going on right now, but I’ll update when there is. One thing noteworthy is that the first of her wildflowers have started to bloom. It’s not many, but nice to see. This will be the first bloom of the flowers I had planted in the clearing next to our house. I think it’s only about 1/4 acre, but close enough that it should be quite a sight from the house when in full bloom.
Thanks for checking in. <3
Sending our love and prayers today.
